Finistère is home to several starting points for pilgrims wanting to follow the Camino de Santiago (also known as ‘The Way of Saint James’). These include the Pointe Saint-Mathieu (near the town of Plougonvelin), Moguériec (near Sibiril) and Locquirec. The paths that leave from Moguériec and Locquirec meet at Morlaix before crossing through the centre of Finistère.
Quimperlé to the south-east is at the junction of the paths in Finistère and allows walkers to reach Nantes.
These paths include many sections on roads. Originally, pilgrims would have travelled by boat to reach Santiago de Compostela in north-west Spain.
Finistère offers a number of paths that are safe for people of impaired mobility to access independently, across 15 or so sites.
These paths are listed on our "circuits" page. You’ll also find all the information you need on the activities, accommodation and restaurants officially recognised as accessible or with a ‘Tourism and Handicap’ label, on our website www.finistere-accessible.com (in French only).
